The Grand Budapest Hotel(2014) Wes Anderson

some minor spoilers

I don't know where to start, should I talk about the great acting first? Or should I talk about the funny scenes? Or the good plot? I guess I should start with the plot. "The Grand Budapest Hotel" is set  in an unreal country named Zubrowka in a parallel universe. The movie is set around the adventures of Gustave H a concierge in the legendry hotel "The Grand Budapest" and his trainee Zero Moustafa, an immigrant with no family who wants to be a lobby boy. Through this amazing movie they become great friends. The acting is great, all of the actors give a dazzling performance especially Ralph Fiennes as a concierge and William Dafoe as a psychopathic assassin who is responsible for a laugh or two. There are some hilarious scenes throughout the movie, I like the scene with the cat a lot. There is hardly anything bad to say about this movie. I did not well appreciate the humor about the Second World War since I am Jewish ,accept for that this is a very good film.
In one sentence: A very good movie with great acting and some hilarious scenes
4.5/5stars

My First Review

Gravity(2013) Efonso Cuaro

some minor spoilers

a review by me and Daniel Laroz

You can summarize the first 40 minutes of the movie by saying that a woman named Ryan (Sandra Bullock) is screaming and crying and a gentleman named Matt (George Clooney) is trying to calm her down. The rest of the movie is a little bit more bearable (just a little bit) .You probably want to know why I dislike this movie so much. First of all George Clooney's character is extremely boring: a gentleman that calms down the pretty woman and at the end he even sacrifices himself and he isn't a kitsh enough so he has to save her in a dream, but he still acts pretty well though. Secondly, that women should have died about a thousand times. Third, three quarters into the movie there's an extremely absurd scene where Ryan is in the Chinese Space Station and she tries to contact somebody through the transmitter and some Chinese guy that can hardly speak English answered her and they could hardly understand each other and at some point she asks him to simulate a dog while she is crying, and I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. I understand that she figured out that she is going to die before she ever sees a dog or another human being but this scene was so absurd that it looked like a scene from the tv show "South Park". Gravity has some good sides although there are not many, the special effects are amazing and the acting is pretty good, there are some good scenes (about two).
I give gravity 2/5 stars
In one sentence: a bad movie with amazing special effects.
